Spring Cleaning: Memories

The past few days we have been going through the whole house and cleaning. I came across my Denver Nugget’s Mutombo #55 jersey in my dresser drawer.

Eric: Why do you still have that? You don’t really like sports?

Me: I don’t know, I have had it so long. I think it is just some good memories of my childhood.

I remember going with my Dad and Brother to watch the Nuggets. Mutombo was my favorite player because he was the tallest guy on the team so I could spot him easy (what do you expect I was in Elementary school!) That was back when things were “normal” for our family. Before alcoholism, drug use, divorce and tons of issues started…that was back when I remember being just a kid.  So I think I am still going to hang on to my jersey and finally move it into my keepsake box.

It is amazing how things like that can bring so many memories back. I am sorry for all of the sad things you had to endure. So sad. Visiting via your comment at Jasmine Star’s blog today. So nice to meet you : )
