Growing up my family always just used the recipe on the back of the package of chocolate chip bag. Then I married Eric and found the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever had! This recipe his Grandma can only remember her Mom using and she doesn’t even know where she got it. I have heard stories of her kids selling their cookies during lunch time at school for someone’s entire lunch, that is how good these cookies are!
1 Cup Butter
2/3 Cup Shortening
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
3 Eggs
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
4 1/2 Cups Flour
2 Teaspoons Salt
1 Package Chocolate Chips
2 Teaspoons Vanilla
Preheat oven to 350. Cream margarine and shortening together with brown and white sugar. Add eggs. In another bowl mix the baking soda, flour and salt then slowly add to the butter mixer until combine. Add vanilla.
Add Chocolate chips and nuts. Bake for 8 to10 minutes.
